Financial Incentives
We appreciate your investment in Sandy Springs.
When you choose to open a business or develop land here, our community benefits greatly. We are constantly working to attract and retain high-quality businesses.
To show our support and promote growth in our city, we have created a set of economic incentive programs for companies moving to or relocating in Sandy Springs that meet certain goals the city has identified. These goals are related to job creation, capital investment, priority redevelopment areas, and workforce housing
Fill out an incentive application and email it to our Economic Development Team to be considered for financial incentives, or contact us for more information on our incentive programs.
Economic Incentive Program
Sandy Springs’ Economic Incentive Program is designed to attract new business and encourage the growth of existing companies. Benefits of this program can include expedited permitting, a waiver of permit fees and a waiver of business and occupational taxes. The Incentive Program is available to businesses that (a) create 15 or more full-time jobs that meet or exceed the average wage level within the city and (b) make a tangible capital investment in a new or renovated building of at least $1 million. The Program has three tiers:
Small Business Priority Redevelopment Areas
Sandy Springs also offers incentives to small businesses looking to expand or locate in Priority Redevelopment Areas within the city. For these areas, the Incentive Program job creation and capital investment thresholds have been lowered, and the program is available to businesses that (a) create five or more full-time jobs and (b) make a tangible capital investment of at least $250,000. Available incentives are the same as incentives for larger projects but are only available in designated redevelopment areas of the city, as defined in the Comprehensive Plan. Please contact the Economic Development team for more information about specific eligible parcels.
Workforce Housing
This program can provide a reduction in permitting fees when a housing project proposes to create at least 150 new or replacement housing units and at least 20 percent of the units are made available to individuals or families with annual incomes of no more than 120 percent of the annual median income of all households in Sandy Springs. Exemptions are also possible for any housing project of at least 150 housing units that proposes to replace at least 150 existing rental housing units with no less than 75 percent of the units intended for home ownership.
